Autodesk Applications Not Showing in Windows 10 "Set Default Programs"

Although AutoCAD's file associations led me to this, this post is not specific to AutoCAD - it affects all Autodesk applications' interactions with Windows, but then, Autodesk does not have a forum that addresses Autodesk/Windows interactions. So...

Was looking at an issue with file associations in Windows 10 & discovered that the "Set Default Programs" dialog box does not list any of the Autodesk Applications (Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs > Set Default Programs).

Would REALLY like to be able to click on an Autodesk application in this area & see what files the selected app looks for...

Is this oversight by design, or am I missing something here?

I ran into something similar. I didnt realize windows 10 had set up two systems. There is a default application menu and there is a file association menu. for what ever reason these concepts were never separated in my head.

CADnoob,

Thanks for the info -- I was almost there - just one click off the correct page - my bad.

Original issue actually had nothing to do with this, but this came up during my research into that issue which is: "Is there a way to double-click a DWG file in Windows Explorer and open the file in a single instance of AutoCAD"?

Right now, if I double-click DWG files in Explorer (for example, 3 files) I get 3 separate instances of the AutoCAD Application opening up. Is there a SYSVAR in AutoCAD that allows an already-running AutoCAD to simply open the double-clicked files as new tabs?

Appreciate any info you can provide...

Check your sysvar SDI

Also look into DWG launcher as its related to opening using the OS. Ive read of issues by associating the default program to AutoCAD as opposed to the DWG launcher.
