We have just upgraded to Autocad 2019 on new machines running windows 10. However the programme crashes when printing to our xerox 6204 printer. Having read through various forums this is a known issue and the workaround is to install the Autocad pc3 hdi driver, xerox 7030. The Autocad hdi xerox 6030 printer driver sends an incorrect paper size settings to our xerox 6204 printer. We have an A1 roll installed in our 6204 printer so we can print A1 drawings along the short edge and A2 drawing along the long edge. The roll is 594mm wide (A1). The printer won't print as it is asking for an 880mm roll size (A1) or a 620mm roll size (A2).
Changing the paper size settings in the driver does not work as we get the same error. The settings are very basic in the driver. Has anyone else come ac cross this issue?

Hello @Anonymous,
I recommend printing to PDF in AutoCAD with all the proper paper settings, then send the print job to the plotter.

Not a great solution as we print and publish a lot of A1 & A2 drawings. it would appear to be an issue with the hdi driver?
Hi,

Am I correct that you previously had an older version of Windows than "10"?
If so then get in contact with Xerox that they should ship Windows 10 drivers that are working. AutoCAD is not the only software that can't plot to Xerox when working on Windows 10.
HP has a similar problem, they do not update their drivers for a lot of plotters. But there exists a "generic driver" (not specific to a plotter model) which does at least it's job. Maybe Xerox as something similar.

The problem has been sorted by changing the media stetting on the printer from A# size to 880, 620... sixe and it printed OK even though the installed paper size is 594mm. not sure how the printer knows what size of paper is in the plotter but it works OK.
