autocad works slower when using an external monitor !?!!?

Hi there !

I'm working on Autodad 2025 on a Lenovo with an i9 processor and a NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q graphic card.

I'm doing pretty basic  steel constructions 2D drawings and I have no problems when I work on the laptop but today I plugged my big EIZO EV2736W monitor.

The laptop doesn't have a DisplayPort slot and the monitor doesn't have a an HDMI slot so I used an HDMI cable with an HDMI>Displayport adaptor on the monitor side.

I use a single screen display (EIZO monitor) and Autocad is slow and have some lags, the cursor moves in a herky-jerky way and for exemple it's very difficult to stretch my drawing.

Anyone know why I have this issue ?

Thanks a lot !

Are you referring to Pickbox or Aperture being too large or small?

Accepted solution

I also would install the Autodesk certified 537.7 driver for your rtx 5000

I mean that the little "square" in the middle of the cross is RECTANGLE and not square !    But this is solved by docking a tool panel on the side of the drawing screen !

Still sounds like a graphics driver problem to me.

I'll install the ACAD Nvidia certified driver and remove the docked panel to see what's happening.!
