AutoCAD Version 14 & Windows 7

I have AutoCAD Version 14 at home, that is used for personal projects, that was running on a Windows XP machine.  Well unfortunately the Windows XP machine died.  I got a great deal on a used Windows 7 machine from my work.  I tried to install AutoCAD Version 14 on the new Widows 7 machine.  A Apparently this cannot be done.  Is there a way to do it?

To confirm, you are talking about AutoCAD R14, that came out in 1997, correct? Not AutoCAD 2014?

Correct, 1997's AutoCAD R14 not AutoCAD 2014.

If I remember correctly, there was something about 32-bit vs. 64-bit?

You could probably run it in Windows XP Mode inside of Win7. There are also some existing threads on this topic, as well as a tutorial on YT.

BTW: Love the old Mopar muscle cars too....

XP Mode should work.  If it doesn't consider looking at Draftsight fro a free-to-use CAD package that's dwg compatible

Thanks guys.  I've never heard of this "XP Mode".  I'll try it when I get some free time at home.
