AutoCAD - Turn off 'Drawing History' notification?

As the post mentions, I want to turn off the notification bubbles that pop-up from the small "Drawing History" icon in the lower right of the screen. I do not use this function and it is extremely annoying.

Thanks!

Right-lick on the bubble when it appears, and just turn it off?
Close the DWGHISTORY palette too if you have it open.

OK, I'll try right-clicking when it pops-up again. Hopefully that will work. I don't have the palette open and never use it.

FWIW you see the pop-up because of where you store your files

Knowing why the message appears can lead you to how to turn it off. You should care.

Yeah, Autodesk keeps trying to connect to Dropbox. I no longer use Dropbox. I just want to disable pop-ups.

If you don't know the answer, please stop responding.

LOL, the answer is right there but, okay, you figure it out.

OK, pop-up happened again. Right-clicking on the balloon does nothing. It's telling me to sign into Dropbox. I don't have Dropbox turned on. Is this a bug?

You should probably explore your Drop Box settings.

Here is a screenshot of the pop-up bubble that I want to disable.

Yes, I am signed into Dropbox. That said, I don't want AutoCAD talking to my Dropbox account. I do not want AutoCAD and Dropbox connected in anyway.

Is it possible to disable this pop-up. Yes / No

Wow, this has been pretty unhelpful so far. 🤨 It would probably be best if you don't understand the problem, maybe just chill and let others participate that may be able to help.

I'm annoyed by the balloon as well and the inability to disable it manually. It's not a feature controlled by Dropbox/OneDrive, it's a cloud storage feature of AutoCAD (DWGHISTORY). The only successful way I've found to stop it is to actually sign into your cloud storage from the AutoCAD balloon that pops up. DWGHISTORY is actually a pretty cool feature if you store your drawings in the cloud. If that is not the case for you, and you do not want ACAD to access your personal cloud storage in any way, my best suggestion would be to create an extra, free cloud storage account (Dropbox or OneDrive, whichever is popping up) that you don't actually use and sign that one into ACAD. At least the program will shut up then. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, I agree with you. Most of the people responding are beyond unhelpful. I don't want to give AutoDesk access to my personal Dropbox. I really wish we could disable this pop-up. I think making a dummy account might be the only solution here. I'll give that a shot thanks.

How about using a different Windows log-in for work? It would be like having a separate desktop for work keeping personal stuff totally separate. Seems pretty simple.

OKOK.. I have the same issue.  I guess that stupid tool pallette is new in ACAD 2021.  It's not on the settings button on the lower right tool palette that it's in but if you right click on the history icon the small history screen opens up.  There's a settings button/section in there too, but,  ha ha ha, it doesn't do anything.  These computer people that design these programs are beyond infuriating. Also, Dropbox doesn't have anything in it to stop the balloons either. I turned off every notification check box drop box has, in every one of their routines on there. Don't waste your time on that site. I spend an hour with it.

Of course, Dropbox has no way to turn it off. They forced it on Autodesk and they dropped the box. Looks like you need to step using one of them so that balloon will not appear, ever.

@dansylvesterRA

I hope this solution goes a long way in helping people minimize the aggravation caused by regularly seeing the "View Drawing History" balloon message. I've been annoyed by this balloon for a very long time and decided to "solve" the problem today.

The answer for me was to enter into the "TRAYSETTINGS" command and switch from "Display until close" to "Display time = 5 seconds".

This solution works great for me and I hope it offers signifcant relief to others.

Thank you - this has also been driving me nuts.

I am signed into OneDrive all the time, but AutoCAD keeps asking me to sign in again after I open every drawing.

Arrrrgggh!

Now is is there for a few seconds and then gone. Woohoo!

Standing ovation for you!! I was going nuts because of that bloody pop-up (not only that one, it's just one of the tons of so-called "features" that annoy me)! Autodesk is beyond ****, it's so unfortunate that I'm FORCED to use their products for work. I'm seeking alternatives, but it's not easy since I'm just an employee.

Also, there's this icon that you can't deactivate and steal place on your tray, reminding you that you have to accept all the **** that Autodesk decides is good for you.
