AutoCAD - The Difference between Return and Keypad Enter?

Hi All,

I've noticed that when entering positional data into AutoCAD (plotting a line for example) that it behaves differently depending on if I use RETURN or Keypad ENTER.

I forgot when exactly when I ran into this problem first time, recently it was when I was helping someone out setting a new UCS, I followed the exact same process they did with the only difference being the use of RETURN instead of Keypad ENTER.

Any ideas what is happening? Or have come across this before?

What you mean by "use RETURN"?  If you mean the difference between the Enter keys on the alphabetic keyboard area vs. the numeric keypad area [they're both called "Enter" on my keyboard], I don't have any suggestions, but clarifying that may suggest something to someone.  [If it's something else, I may not either, but....]

Aye, enter/return on the alphanumeric keys. (showing my age I guess) and enter on the numpad.

Explain in a lot more detail, step by step, command name by action (so someone can replicate it in their own DWG files) how to recreate that error you are reporting in ALL of your files everywhere all the time by simply using two different <enter> methods please.

TIA

The problem could be a function of the keyboard that you are using.  Note this discussion.
