Autocad Suffix Text in Field Keeps changing after reload

Hi all,

I'm having trouble making the suffix in text work. I have a table that is using fields to calculate our desired intent. I have a few panels that are drawn up and have dimensions on them. In some my table cells I have them referencing the dimensions then another cell (cell 3) computing the square footage by multiplying cell 1 with cell 2 (both dimensions).

I want to calculate the weight of the panels in another cell (cell 4) by multiplying the square footage (cell 3) with 5 (5 lbs per square foot). I get the correct number but the wrong suffix, so I adjust the suffix to be lbs and it looks fine. But upon closing out the drawing and reloading they are all back to square feet instead of lbs.

Is there a fix for this?

How are you changing the suffix to lbs? I tried it and didn't have any problem with it changing back to sq ft. I used 2014 to do the dwg but opened it with both 2015 and 2016 and didn't have a problem.
