Hi, I have a problem (or maybe I am missing somehting...): I have drawn a simple beam, so I exported it to an .igs file but when I open the .igs file in inventor I get no objects...what should I do?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums.

Can you post the original AutoCAD file?

Here are two very simple drawings, made with AutoCad Structure Dealing 2015, I've tried to converti in IGES format with an empty result when opened in inventor

In ASD go to ASD-Model tab. then TOOLS --> Save Model as ACIS Solids

This converts the ASD proxy objects into AutoCAD solids and saves the file as a new .dwg

Open the save AutoCAD drawing and export to IGS (or other format) from there.

Now with your suggestions something shows.

I am now trying to export to inventor the attached drawing, note that:

- in in the igs file opened in inventor there aren't the bolts

- the beams are overlapped in the same direction instead of being ortogonal like in original drawing
