AUTOCAD running extremely slow whenever text, dimensions or leaders are selected

Hi,

I have been running autocad 2017 for a few years and it has been fine. I recently upgraded to 2022 and now both 17 & 22 have started to run very slow upon selection.

Slightly noticeable when selecting any object but predominantly when selecting things including text such as mtext, leaders, dimensions etc, where it will stop for at least 5-10 seconds upon selection and then continue as if it we nothing. This is obviously both frustrating and extremely time consuming when editing.

Can anyone help me as o why this may be?

OR is the real problem you left the DWG file format set at R2013 (or lower) in the newer program so you can swap files between R2017 and R2022?
