AutoCAD - Quick Measure tool not working

Quick measure tool is not working on one drawing that I am currently working on. Whenever I select quick measure under the utilities section on the home tab, the enter an option box pops up. Quick has the dot next to it, but anytime I try to click it again, the box just moves to wherever my mouse moves. If I select any of the other options in this box it works fine, only the quick measure tool doesn't work. Any advice?

Try to change the view to TOP. I've noticed that your view is Custom View.

Ahh, it was slightly off, and I didn't notice! Fixed it and it works now, thanks

Work using 2D Wireframe not Wireframe. It is an annoyance for sure.

This is what helped me personally. I was previously working in 3D and was using the conceptual visual style. Changing the visual style back to 2D wireframe allowed me to use quick measure. Thank you!

This is exactly what it turned out to be for me.  Not sure why switching between the 3d modelling workspace and the 2d drafting and annotation workspace doesn't change visualization styles.  Though perhaps it can; I will have to check to see if there is an option for that.

I'm German so: if you change the current visual to "2D Drahtkörper" it works just fine for me

I had the same issue a while ago and this thread was helpful.

Recently however I switched to using AutoCAD LT and this issue popped up again. I can't change the view mode though... what do I do now?
