AutoCAD over VPN with multiple users

Is there a way to throttle the frequency of these directory checks to less frequent occurrences..?

I suppose we can use Vault but I'm curious if this is configurable in AC....

Doing a bit more research.  Autocad constantly checks the source directory of files that you are using.   It’s a constant back and forth from the client to the server and the shared directory.   When inside the network this isn’t going to be much of a bother (except for the bandwidth that is being used up).   But over a VPN connection, especially a slower one, then things are going to drag no matter what you do.   So copying the files locally is probably going to be the best solution.

Are you having external references in the drawing ? Consider using XLOADCTL to 0 & DEMANDLOAD to 0. This has improved performance in many users while operating their files on a network.

thanks Vinod, I will look into that. Yes, they are accessing their drawing files via the network on a file server at our site. 
 It looks like those variables are set in regedit on each end users' PC..?  Or maybe just on the file server where the files reside.
