AutoCAD online course for beginners?

Hello.  I am looking for a recommendation for an online course for beginners in AutoCAD. I have been using the program for more years than I care to admit, but I have an employee that is interested in learning and a class at a local community college will not work with her schedule.  We are willing to pay for a course but how do you sort through the courses available?  Thanks in advance.  Amy

There is always the Hitchhikers Guide to AutoCAD

https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2022/ENU/?guid=GUID-2AA12FC5-FBB2-4ABE-9024-90D41FEB1AC3

You can also check this one out. I've never used it but its been around a while.

https://www.mycadsite.com/

Ascent had a good program as well.

https://resources.ascented.com/courseware-roadmap/ascent-2024-roadmap-and-price-list

There is also a tone of content out there on youtube. You can also check out Linkedin learning or one of the moogs out there.

Thank you for sending the information. These are worth looking at, but I would still like an actual course which provides assignments, tests, etc.  Something that we can take a look at and view the different sections for accountability.

Amy,

The first course I took was in 2001 at a local 2 year college that offered a certificate of completion after a few days during the week or 4 weeks of Friday evening, Saturday morning courses.

The certificates issues were; Introduction to AutoCAD, Intermediate AutoCAD, & 3D Modeling.

https://www.autodesk.com/partners/locate-a-reseller?partnerType=Training%20Center

These weren't full semester classes but rather maybe 35-40 hours of total time required to earn the certificate.

If classroom learning even for a few days or weekends isn't feasible there are quite a few resources right here on Autodesk's website:

https://www.autodesk.com/certification/learn/course/autocad-drawing-design-drafting-professional

Hope this helps

@playfy A good beginner AutoCAD course should start with the basics, include hands-on projects, and be taught by someone who explains concepts clearly rather than rushing through tools. I'd also check recent student reviews and make sure the lessons are updated for the latest AutoCAD version. Wishing your employee the best with learning—it’s a great skill to build!
