AutoCAD Lock and Merge Function

I am a user of your company's product, AutoCAD, and I am currently encountering some difficulties. While using the lock feature, I've found it challenging to successfully merge line segments using the "join" function. Upon zooming in, the merged line segments and locks seem to disconnect instead of staying connected. This has affected my work, as I am unable to efficiently perform the necessary merging of segments.

This issue has significantly impacted my work efficiency and project progress. I have attempted various methods, including restarting the software and repositioning the locks, but it seems these methods are not resolving the problem.

I believe this might be a functionality issue within the software itself.

Hi,

first of all: "of your company's product,"

Hey, you are in a User forum, there are other Users like you who traing to help you to use the software,

so if you know the answer of a question from another user, help!

This is a great resource for support, but it isn't the official product support. Nopody is paid to help you. https://www.autodesk.com/support/contact-support

But you are very welcome 😉

back to the topic: "AutoCAD Lock and Merge Function"

meaning "Lock layer" / LAYLOCK and "Merge layer" = JOIN ?

If a Layer is locked, you cannot edit the object which refers the (locked) layers, that'S a basic and fundamental systematics.

If you want to edit objects, it is on you to make sure the layers are unlocked.

While you are in Join command, after your object selection, see the commandline or tectscreen [F2]

and you will see that Join command doesn't except objects on locked layers.

What is your question here?

>>". Upon zooming in, the merged line segments and locks"

Oups, I am confused now. Are you not talking about "locked layers"? What are locks, do you mean Grips?

Please share a Screenshot AND a sample .DWG file.

What is "the lock feature"?

Are you referring to geometric constraints?
