Autocad keeps "freezing" randomly while working in other programs.

Hi,

I recently started using Fusion 360 for it's CAM features.

However I am still using Autocad normally for CAD.

I have started to encounter a problem of Autocad not being able to "reactivate" after doing something else and trying to switch back to it.

It does not throw the "not responding" reaction in windows, it does simply nothing when trying to interact or even pop it to the front.

It simply does nothing, and I have to terminate the process.

While being annoying of course, the extreme point is that this problem appears to destroy the entire autosave progress.

Autocad displays the backup recovery files dialog after relaunching it, however those files are the same as before opening them in the frozen instance.

Meaning if I spend 30 minutes in Autocad on a new drawing, and do not manually save it every few minutes, when it freezes, it will "recover" an empty drawing, even though my autosave interval is 5 min.

I looked at the Autosave folder and all files are 0KB.

Now I am scared to open Fusion 360 next to Autocad, which is an unacceptable situation.

Does anyone have a clue what could cause this?

Thanks

Hi,

While working in AutoCAD, the program intermittently crashes or freezes during normal activities such as saving, switching tabs, copying and pasting, zooming, or drawing. Click here

What am I supposed to get from this copy&paste answer, don't you think I already found this article while searching for a solution?
None of the listed suggestions relate to my situation, that's why I posted a new topic.

Do you have a specific suggestion? Do you have knowledge of what might cause my problem?

Sorry i didn't know you already search in AKN, I just try you to get direct link.after i read your thread so i post this link.

1. what i know you to be check auto-save location to its own folder on your local drive (SAVEFILEPATH system variable)

2. Set the AutoCAD system variable SAVEFIDELITY to <0>.

3. Set the AutoCAD system variable ISAVEPERCENT <0>

4. Save drawing files for later use just as you do with other applications. You can also set up automatic saving and   backup files and save only selected objects. Click here

Thanks

Your AutoCAD variant and year version is...?
Your Windows OS is...?

FWIW you never EVER should rely on AutoCAD's Autosave to save your work: that tool is there for crash recovery only, and it only works if it is a system crash not a program freeze. You are the operator, you need to manually save your work all the time if you value the content you create.
