Autocad is very slow while opening CAD files (Files are kept on Server) from Remote Desktop after VPN connection

Hi to All,

We all knew that, Due covid pandemic all the over the World, Most of People work from Home. While working in AutoCAD, AutoCAD is very slow. So I gone through the Google & Autodesk Website. But I did not get any answer regarding AutoCAD Speed. But with same bandwidth, Revit is working is very well. Any idea, how can improve AutoCAD Speed.

Hello @Anonymous

Welcome to the AutoCAD forum.

If you experience a different speed than before, I suggest you try the following steps to see if they make a difference on your side:

  1. Save the drawing on a local path instead of a server path.
  2. Do your colleagues experience the same behavior? If not, what differentiates your situation from the situation of your colleagues who might not face the same issue.
  3. Does your system handle the situation from home differently than from working in the network directly from the office (Antivirus, Firewall, Proxy,...)?
  4. Some paths in your user profile might not be reachable. Please check some of the paths in your OPTIONS and check if it make a difference if you save the content locally. A next step on this point would be to reset your AutoCAD profile to default (See: How to reset AutoCAD to defaults)

Hello @Thomas_Stuehle ,

Thank you very much for help.

After saving CAD Drawings on Local Path, we are getting better speed as compared to previous.
