AutoCAD file reverted to older version – lost several days of work

Hi, I’m having an issue with an AutoCAD file and I really need some help.

I was working on a project and had about 70% completed (around 20 hours of work).

Today, when I opened the file, it reverted back to an older version from several days ago.

I checked:
- bak files (same outdated version)
- autosave files (svs), but couldn’t find anything
- I’ve been saving regularly, so I don’t understand what happened

This has never happened to me before. I’ve only ever lost a few hours of work at most, never multiple days.

This file was originally created by another user, so I’m wondering if something in how it was created or saved could have caused this.

Is there any way to recover a more recent version?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Check this:

Follow these steps to restore a previous version:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and switch to the drawing, for which an older version has to be restored.
  2. Select the drawing and choose from context menu "Properties".
  3. Switch to the tab "Previous Versions".
  4. If already configured by your IT, you see several backups of your drawing, which you can restore from here.

@danielle_andradeKEPU6 Where exactly do you store your DWG files please?

And does your I.T. backup and restore your PC and files for you? Or do you have an APP that does that?
