Autocad expressions question

While creating a Rectangular Array and setting Column spacing I saw an Expression option.

When I entered a number, it read "Requires (...) option keyword". What should I enter there? What is an expression or an option keyword? I've searched the Help file with no results.

In the expression you may enter a formula or equation. Expression derives the value based on a mathematical formula or equation.

I've read the article and, in the Array fields, tried both QuickCalc variables (like Phi) and functions (like dee()), and nothing worked. So what expressions *do* work? Also, do lisp expressions work?

Hi @Anonymous,

This is interesting - I never noticed it before. I played with this a bit and found it doesn't seem to accept a variable value defined in LISP. I was able to put in a mathematical expression such as =3*4.

It will be interesting to see if anyone adds a post on how they use this option in their arrays.
