AutoCAD - DIMLAYER change not accepting

Hello,

I have now the dimension as default on the layer "MATEN". But we change it in our template to "_XXXXX_MATEN".

But it looks like it does not accept this new layer when I try to change it with the command DIMLAYER.

Anyone knows if the _ is a problem for assigning dimensions as a layer?

What is the error message presented at the commandline if any? There almost always is one if something does not work.

Your layer name works fine for me in any file I tested

What is your version of AutoCAD as listed in ABOUT command?

I have no problems using DIMLAYER command to assign layer _XXXXX_MATEN

Even when that layer does not exist I'm still able to enter that as the layer name.

Then on the next dimension I draw it automatically creates that layer and places the DIMENSION there.

But any DIMENSIONS you already have in your drawing prior to DIMLAYER command will not change.

I think I found my problem.

I used the " " in the new name. But then typed it without it and it worked fine.

Thx for the help.
