Hi! This is Inventor forum. Are you using AutoCAD or Inventor? There is an example of ball joint assembly here. If you have access to Inventor, you can open the files and take a look how they were created. The way to model them in AutoCAD is slightly different. You will not be able to establish constrain relationship easily. If you just want 2D drawing in AutoCAD, actually AutoCAD can create associative drawing views from Inventor assemblies and parts. The command is called VIEWBASE.

Many thanks!

HI @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I would start by switching to a 3D workspace

Capture.PNGCapture.PNG

Now, create a SPHERE

Next, create a CYLINDER and push it partially into the sphere and use UNION to combine them

Capture1.PNGCapture1.PNG

Now, you can make the socket portion. You can use another cylinder to do this or a box, or any other solid shape.

Now create the socket or void in the last cylinder using another sphere and by using SUBTRACT

Now you can place the ball part into the socket

I realize this is over-simplified but perhaps it will get you started.
