AutoCad 2025 - units issue

Hi,

I would like to ask for help with one issue I am dealing with. My colleagues don't have that type of problems with the same file so I assume it must be somewhere in my CAD settings but we were not able to find solution.

When I work on Civil stuff the Units are suppose to be in meters, when type in UNITS - change from millimetres to metres and save it. As soon as I reopen the file it is back in millimetres. When my colleagues reopen the file it is still in metres on their pc's.

Thank you

Try this command:

-dwgunits  (don't forget the - in front)

Then choose meter, and follow all the commands.

save it, exit, then open again.

Perhaps there's a program that runs when you start AutoCAD on the drawing causing it to switch from Meters back to mm.  To test, start AutoCAD in safe mode and see if this resolves the issue.

Not sure that is even possible if you all open the same exact DWG file and you're the only one with issues.

1) Civil stuff? What does that mean please. And are your colleagues doing the same task too?

2) What differentiates your software year version and variant from theirs? you never mention anything about their setup, I assume you are all on plain AutoCAD2025 with no add-ons, but not sure.

3) Are you all in WindowsOS too? Or are you the only one on a MAC?

4) are you XREF-ing this file, but they are not perhaps? Did you not mention something else about what you are doing with the file that they are not?

5) did you reset your AutoCAD yet?

TIA

1) civil works in engineering, doesn't really matter.. just a reason why it needs to be in metres and not millimetres

2) we are running the same version of AutoCAD 2025 without add ons

3) yes we are all on Windows

4) no X-ref, I just open any cad file and set it to metres and as soon as I reopen it it's back in mm

5) resetting fixed the issue, I tried to avoid it due to all the settings, shortcuts etc. I had set up there but it worked! Now it's just about setting everything back up again.

Thank you
