AutoCAD 2025 (greek) character encoding problem

Moving from version 2024 to 2025, there appears to be a serious change in the way AutoCAD understands greek characters.

In 2024 a text object with greek characters, when selected, would show just my text in the 'contents' properties. Now in 2025 it shows a formatting prefix, as if I have formatting overrides (I have not) (see image 1).

Furthermore, and much more seriously, greek characters in dsd files (saved 'publish' lists) appear with their U+hex values when opened in a text editor and the dsd list is gibberish and invalid (even greek dwg and layout titles not recognized?) when loaded on the publish dialog (see image 2). 

This can be a real pain, as I have hundreds of sheets organizes and named for pdf export via the 'publish' command.

Solved! It had to do with the Windows language settings: the "system locale" under "administrative language settings" had to be set to "Greek".
