Have used AutoCAD since the first beta version, for decades, now. Version 2023 and 2024 have become increasingly unfriendly. For This year, especially since upgrading to 2024, the program CRASHES at least once every other day. Sometimes twice (or more) a day!
So, I am removing ACAD in its entirety. I have switched to ProgeCAD, which behaves like AutoCAD, but at a fraction of the cost, and without the One-Thousand Seven hundred dollar A YEAR subscription fee. It uses the dwg format and has features that ACAD hasn't caught up with yet.
No more AutoCAD renewals, or frustrations for me. I H A V E H A D I T...

Hi @steven5LQ9V
Thanks a lot for posting your question to the forums! I understand your frustration and its not great to have the program crash on you. When these crashes happen they are usually for one of the following reasons.
Problems may occur if essential product or operating system updates are not applied.
For AutoCAD Updates, after the initial product release, updates with bug fixes and feature enhancements are often issued (see Install Updates, Add-ons, and Enhancements and Download Finder).
For more information about operating system requirements, see System requirements for AutoCAD and System requirements for AutoCAD LT.
Note: If performance is poor after an operating system update, follow the guidelines in Troubleshooting poor AutoCAD performance after an Operating System update.
If AutoCAD crashes while working with a specific drawing, the file may be corrupted (see How to repair corrupt AutoCAD files and Troubleshooting poor performance with specific drawings in AutoCAD).
If the file is stored in a non-Microsoft network environment, move the file and externally referenced files to the local drive and work on the files from there (see Autodesk support for non-Microsoft network).
Uninstall the plug-in, add-on, or object enabler. Check the requirements of the software and install any update available from the software provider.
We look forward to hearing back from you with more information so we can help you as a community!
