AutoCAD 2021 Sheet Set Manager ignoring a DWG file

So, I've made great use of the Sheet Set Manager in the past, but now I'm getting a rather strange misbehavior where when I go to create a new sheet set and load the folder my drawings are in, it loads all the DWG files in the folder, except for the one that I need it to (i.e. the file I was just working in).

I've closed the file, and reopened to make sure the file was still there and intact. I verified the file is indeed saved the place I thought it did. I closed the file, opened another, and tried to create a sheet set after the file was closed, then exited and restarted AutoCAD and tried the same again. Any ideas?

Fix the file perhaps? RECOVER command is a good place to start.

Then ensure you are seeking the correct file in the correct folder, and the file actually contains usable active initiated and set up layouts too.

What is the path to the DST and DWG and what type of drive is it?

What changed since it worked before?

A couple more things to check/try:

  • Was this particular drawing part of a different sheet set? Yes/No.... if no, then disregard. If yes, remember that drawings can only be part of one sheet set at a time (they cannot be added to more than one DST file).
  • Try to remove that sheet from the sheetset, then re-add it back in. Watch specifically for the message in the 'import layout as sheet' function to see if it is available for import, or why it is not available.
