I couldn’t figure out if there is a tool that can create boundaries for multiple hatches in one go

Is there any way to make the generated boundary associated to the hatch?
I need to use the stretch command to edit multiple hatches so they need an associated boundary.

 

Any help is appreciated.

Does it need to be STRETCH specifically?  Can you select the Hatches and their boundary objects collectively, and then use grip-editing, which will work on them together even if they're not associated?

 

But to answer your question -- I don't know of a way.  It doesn't look hopeful, as Help for HATCHGENERATEBOUNDARY is explicit about it:

and doesn't offer any option about that.

 

But it should be possible to come up with a routine that would do that, take information from the Hatch pattern, delete it, and make a new one, this time Associative with the boundary.  Would that serve your purpose?
