AutoCAD 2020 Dimensions in Block: By-Layer vs. By-Block Bug

In AutoCAD 2020, dimensions within a block that are assigned as "By Block" ignore this attribute and display as "By Layer" regardless.  I've attached a sample drawing as well as screenshots of the issue in 2020 vs. 2018 and earlier.

Work:  AutoCAD 2022.1.3, Windows 10 Pro v22H2 64-bit, Intel Core i7-8700K, 32GB RAM, Samsung 960 Pro SSD, AMD Radeon Pro WX 5100, 3 Dell Monitors (3840x2160)

Hi,

I can reproduce the display issue with AutoCAD 2019 and 2020.

However, I can't do that in new drawings with new objects.

Have you created this block with 2020 or with 2018 (or older)?

Can you recreate the issue by creating the drawing with AutoCAD 2020?

I created this test block with AutoCAD 2020 using an existing blank drawing template from an older (unknown) version.  I also notice that I can create the block without issue if using a 2020 template (but I can't copy the block into a new template bug-free).  So, unfortunately, unless Autodesk fixes the issue, it looks like we'd have to recreate all of our templates and entire block library to not carry this bug forward, which is not a feasible solution.

After seeing another thread that said the 2020.1.2 update fixes this issue, I installed the update.  It appeared to fix the problem at first, but when the layer is locked it doesn't retain the correct visibility.

Sorry for the late edits..

@nrz13

So when you lock the "Test" layer, it doesn't change the color?

This bug still persists in AutoCAD 2021 when the layer is locked.
