AutoCAD 2020 - Automatically filling text based on position in drawing

Hi,

I am using AutoCAD2020. I am using it to draw instrumentation diagrams. I want to be able to automatically fill in a text field (actually a multileader if possible).  For instance, on the drawing below, I'd like to have the text filled in automatically instead of me having to type everything - It is part of sheet 1 (this is a field in my layout), and the position is B2. The number is 1 is just a bonus/nice to have since this is the first part in that position of the drawing.

Is there a way to automate this process? With customer requests, it is becoming an excessive amount of work when we need to add something "in between" a drawing and shift things left and right, having to spend more time than we would like on drawing because of text alone.

Many thanks to anyone who attempts to help!

1.  Look up my name Tim C. on the forum and look for CAD Standard attachment.  There is an elevation block that autoloads text based on the location of teh block (in model space).  I can look later today if you cannot find it.

2.  You may be able to add modifiers to teh text with fileds too.

This will take some experiementing to see if it will get you what you want.

ALSO, what about find and replace?  It works good on attributes, but not fields.

OR create a block with an attribute link to a ref value in another attribute, add some expression math and a value chnage will ripple through all the blocks linked to the ref attribute,  that too is in the CAD standards PART BUBBLE block.

OR one more 🙂  place the sheet in a sheet set and setup sheet properties you could edit the properties in a single dialog or use JTB Property Editor ( I think thats the name) which allows you to edit properties as well.

OR place this request on the LISP forum, those guys are great overthere at helping solve challenges.

Many ways to get you close, explore a bit and throw some questions back out to the forum.

Best Regars
