Autocad 2018 Inverse Color Problem

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm having a difficulty regarding autocad's colors. When I want to change the color of my lines, layers, etc., it goes on its negative or inverse colors. ie. when I choose red color to set on my dimension lines it goes to blue. Same on some index colors and the yellow won't change from previous chosen color. Green and magenta are okay, though.

I'm kind of new in the platform and a student. But the thing is, I cannot find any problem same as mine on internet. My autocad is driving me crazy, it's a minor problem but it bothers me a lot. I attached an image so you can see my problem. Hope someone can help me out. Reinstalling this is my last resort.

Btw, I'm using Autocad 2018.

Hello @Anonymous

This is very strange your problem To correct that I recommend to reset AutoCAD to its default values, this way you could correct any misconfiguration you may present,

I attached the link to see the procedure:

I hope it will be useful,

Thank you for replying! @oswaldodcb

I tried the solution that you gave, unfortunately resetting it to default settings didn't work out. I attached another images for clearer explanation.

Thanks!

In the COLOR dialog box does it show "AutoCAD Color Index (ACI). I wonder if it is corrupted. If you use the True Color or other Color Books tabs are those colors incorrect also?

Other suggestions I found on other forums but not aswered if they helped: Turn on/off hardware acceleration. Update display driver.

As @neaton commented, the problem may be the graphics accelerator, with the command GRAPHICSCONFIG you can turn it off or turn on,

I found a solution that was presented to another colleague, I attached the link:

I hope this helps you,

@oswaldodcbone more problem though, everything is laggy and jaggy when creating lines. But when I turned on the graphics accelerator, it goes smoothly. What do you think I need to do to lessen or remove the jaggy lines?

It appears you need Hardware Acceleration on for your work. That means you should probably look into upgrading your graphics card to one that is <<supported>> by ACAD 2018.

You can turn on only the Smooth Line Display in the Graphics Performance dialog box but it may not solve your problem.

Turning off hardware acceleration is more of a diagnostic procedure than a final solution; if the problem goes away that's an indication the problem is with the graphics system.  Rather than replacing hardware right away, look into updating the driver for the hardware (ensure you can go back to the current version before doing anything, just in case).  An updated driver version can solve many graphics problems without having to crack the case.
