Autocad 2017 drops out to the windows 10 desktop on starting

Autocad 2017 drops out to the desktop and I have to open the Tasks View and select autocad again to use it.

if I try to open a second file it does the same, the second file is visible in the tasks view but just drops to the desktop if selected cannot be used.

Any advise very welcome.

I'm not sure if I understand the issue. Can you share a screenshot or screencast showing the issue?

You may want to try resetting your AutoCAD profile.

  1. From the Start Menu, Navigate to the AutoCAD application directory
  2. Click Reset Settings to Default
  3. Select whether or not you want to backup and customizations
  4. After making your decision the application will rebuild your AutoCAD profile and launch the application.

Thanks, but it was a very simple issue. I simply changed to tablet mode on my Surface Book laptop and it resolved it.
