AutoCad 2017 Annotation Scale icon on status bar gone

I've just had our IT folks upgrade my PC to Autocad 2017.  The Annotation Scale icon/button on the status bar in the lower right corner of the screen is gone and it is no longer listed in the customize pop-up at the far right of the status bar.  I use this to set layout scales and the accompanying lock icon to lock the scale.  How do I get this icon/button back?

Try command STATUSBAR

A combination of quitting and relaunching AutoCad and issuing the STATUSBAR command seems to have fixed it.  Not sure what happened!
