Any idea why this update keeps popping up?  I've installed it about 10 times now.

Have you verified your current build is up to date? Type ABOUT and verify the installation. Have you restarted your machine since the install?

If its installed i might look into reinstalling desktop app

(Lower level un-install to get a clean install if needed can be found here)

ABOUT command in AutoCAD 2017: does it report you actually have 2017.1.2 installed?
If yes, you can safely kill off the useless Desktop App, you're not going to need it anytime soon.

It appears that the update is not being applied. It looks like you have only SP1 installed.

Go get your update from your subscription page, download it, keep track of where you parked it, then launch and look for error messages or issues.

You can get all of your updates manually right here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates

Even after the manual install of these two (circled in red) I still don't have the latest installs beyond SP1.  Any ideas on what I can try (beyond uninstalling and reinstalling)?

Hi,

have you got log-files in your temp-folder? If so please upload them so we can look into it and maybe find the source of the reason(s).

Installing the AutoCAD Electrical Update does not make sense when you only have AutoCAD (Vanilla).

Assuming you mean the %temp% folder searched through windows, correct?  If so, unfortunately I had already deleted my temp folder prior to your message in an attempt to reupdate.

Yes.

Then please clear the %TEMP% folder again and start once more the update installer

Hi,

not sure if that is really the reason, but within the log-file I see:

There is a Beta version of this update already installed. Please remove the Beta version and try this installation again.

So I would suggest to uninstall the previous installed update-package.

Interesting...might this have anything to do with me installing the demo/trial version first before changing over to official network license?  I don't know of any install links other than the demo version install first, then changing over the license.

Hi,

>> might this have anything to do with me installing the demo/trial version first

No, a trial is no beta version.

If you are not part of the beta users you also can't have beta versions of AutoCAD or AutoCAD updates.

So I would recommend doing:

  • first uninstall this update and then reinstall it after a new download.
  • If that does not work run the workflow for a clean uninstall of AutoCAD itself (as described >>>here<<<) and then start the installation from scratch.

Good luck, - alfred -

Unfortunately I'll have to await some downtime in project work to do this.  Will update if clean uninstall reinstall will fix this. Note: I have already done a clean reinstall a few weeks back.

Hi,

Please don't forget to first uninstall only the update and try then to install the update again.

Maybe a complete application uninstall is not necessary at all.

After uninstalling and reinstalling all 2017 AutoCAD updates, it worked and I now have the latest version of updates.  Thanks much!

I have multiple seats of Design Suite Premium 2017 but due to the EOL of that product, I cannot download the updates for the primary component AutoCAD 2017! The DSP doesn't show up in my products at all... How can I get the 2017.1.2 update in this situation?
