Autocad 2014 Locking up processing images

I have a drawing with multiple images attached. I have a group of six that I am using to put in the background so I can check some of my calculations, and linework. I have the layer on and the images unloaded. When I start reloading them one by one, it always locks up on the 6th one. No matter which order. See attached PDF.

Also worth noting is that I am working on a network drive using Citrix files, don't know if that could be the cause. Also the images are 50% transparent, thought maybe that may have something to do with it as well.

thank you.

Copy all the images to your hard drive, then load one by one, if it works then you know it's network problem.

I don't think it matter by redirecting the path of the images.

how do i redirect the path? when I go to xref and try it only gives me the option to make absolute, make relative, or remove.

I use image command.

it worked when i changed the path to my hard drive. now the question is why does it do that when i'm on the network? i like to work on the network, have all my files backed up, and also be able to access them at different locations.

Your I.T. person/group will need to investigate that for you.
