AutoCAD 2014 and Windows 8.1

Hello everyone,

Recently I have upgraded my Windows 8 OS to 8.1. Before it, AutoCAD 2014 was working fine, without problems. But once the Windows upgrade was finished it  is impossible to run AutoCAD. When in loading screen, AutoCAD crashes. Does "AutoCAD Service Pack 1" or "Model Documentation Hotfix for 64-bit Windows 8.1" solve my problem? If not, there is any hotfix or AutoCAD upgrade to improve compatibility between AutoCAD 2014 and Windows 8.1? I have spent for hours looking for help in Autodesk web unsuccessfully.

Thanks for all.

uninstalling ms visual c++ 2008 does not work. I've got an idea. How about autodesk opening 2015 for student downloads and upgrading all the windows 8.1 paid users???????

I am afraid that that is not the case.

I have Windows 8.1 64bit. I have tried to install both the 64 and tried the 32 (just in case).

Autocad 2015 has the following error (attached);

This is an Autocad error in this instance, and not Windows, as I am fully able to download and install any and all programmes that have Windows 8.1 compatability.

Yo tuve que volver a restaurar mi PC a windows 8 y se instalaron todos los
autocad (autocad14 , autocad arquitectura 14/15-Revit)- perfectamente.
Windows 8.1 no es compatible con ninguno de los mencionados.

This solution is really juicy! 🙂 just overwrite the setup.ini file and that's enough.

Autodesk 2016–2015 products

Most Autodesk 2016–2015 products are supported on Windows 8 and 8.1. See the system requirements for your product to verify compatibility and specific details.

Autodesk 2014 products

See the system requirements for your product to verify compatibility and specific details (for example, some products are supported on the 64-bit version of Windows 8 but not the 32-bit version).

Unless noted otherwise in the system requirements for an individual product, Autodesk 2014 products are supported on the Windows 8 operating system.

Autodesk 2013 products and older

Note: Unless indicated otherwise, this information applies to the 2013-2011 versions of all Autodesk products. Autodesk product versions of 2010 and earlier are no longer supported and are not included in considerations of Windows 8 compatibility.

Autodesk intends to support many of our key products on Windows 8 and will add additional products to the list of products supported on Windows 8 as updates and future versions are released. Product Support will provide its best effort to assist customers who have issues with products that are not currently supported.

The Autodesk products listed below have been tested and are confirmed as working correctly on Microsoft Windows 8 operating system:

If any new updates or information is made to the above list I will try my best to post in this thread.

Happy posting

Well, what you need to do is running xforce 32 bit or 64 bit as your administration.

Good luck
