Autocad 2007 cannot open dwg

Hi,

A colleague of mine is using autocad 2007 to work at a project that was given to him while his friend is in vacation

His friend uses autocad 2019 and converted his project so it can work in autocad 2007.

From the ~10 files that he works with, two of them cannot be opened in autocad 2007 even after the conversion

Attached you can see the error he receives

I've also sent the error report to autodesk and the number for it is CER_176764448

It's a hard step to think object geometry build with 2019 can be modified with a 12 releases older system.

Yes, simple polyline, line, circle, yes, but that's it, every newer object will create conflicts.

I suggest that this colleague uses the same version of AutoCAD.

(comparing like a blacksmith from 1800 should modify a part from a current engine/vehicle)

But upload the 2 drawings and we can look into it.

I completely agree with you

I know that's a hard thing to ask, for a 12 years old program to be compatible with today's programs but the person using it is quite old and i don't wanna argue with him. At least I can show him that I've tried to solve the problem by writing to you.

Hi,

you know that this file uses a PDF as XRef? That is a not supported reference type for 2007.

But I used Civi3D 2019 (as there were Civil 3D object inside the dwg-file), command -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD and got the attached file as result. I was able to open in with AutoCAD 2007

this drawing was opening well in AutoCAD 2007.

I did the same procedure as before, maybe my converted file works better on your side with 2007.
