Size too big in Layout

Hi everyone,

New issue, as you can see by the picture im using mm measurement 0 precision.

When i look in both layouts the drawing is far too big, ive tried REGEN, altered DIMSTYLE to Decimal but for the life of me i cant find a solution in the forum or google.  Also, im using this particular style often and want to create a template instead of needing to adjust the DIMSTYLE & UNITS all the time when i begin a new sheet.  The little layout images have been resized and they are the full screen in layout.

Lastly, when i take grid off it still appears in the layout??

on a side note, its really funky switching from autocad to photoshop with click and drag and click and hold, there should be a universal style.

Many thanks

Hi,

can you please make screenshots part by part?

The image you showed gives (at least to me) no information of what you grabbed and especially not the information why you think the size is too big.

Uploading the dwg-file and describing what you expect (with numbers of the sizes you are referring to) would be the best.

Hi Alfred,

attached is the file, as you will see it's huge in layout, i want to use mm with 0 precision.

Also, i thought grid disappeared in layout if you un-highlight the bottom ribbon "grid"?

Hi,

>> attached is the file, as you will see it's huge in layout

I only see objects in modelspace, I don't see layouts that have valid settings ...

Maybe we have different wordings and we need to first synchronize that 😉

I try to speak in "AutoCAD language" 😉

>> i want to use mm with 0 precision

You already set the _UNITS to use 0 digits. I guess that is not an open question?

>> i thought grid disappeared in layout

The setting for GRID is specific to each viewport, so if you change to Layout 1, double click into the viewport and turn off the grid you have turned it off for just that one viewport.

I have just done something interesting,

I right clicked the layout 2 and clicked new layout and now the image fits the layout page???

Why has the measurements corrected in layout 3 but still layout 1 & 2 model does not fit the screen?

Also Alfred, ive only been learning Autocad for about 2 weeks and used it about 5 times so please bear with me on the autocad language

Hi,

Because Layout 1 and Layout 2 already existed before you have created your objects in modelspace.

When you create a new layout then the viewport in the layout does automatically a zoom-extents to the geometry that exists at that moment.

No problem with that,  that's why I showed you a screenshot from what I don't understand with your words. Part of learning 😉
