attaching tag to plolyline

hello, im using a template where tags are somehow attached to polylines so when i change the polyline, the area in tag changes too. I copied this but it doesnt work no more. Someone told me to rightclick on tag and select "Tag anchor" then select objects and when i select the polyline the tag attaches to it then and when i change polyline my area in tag will change too, but i dont see this option under my rightclick while object selected. i need help please. How to attach it to polyline?

Is this tag using a field? You need to edit the field and link it to your polyline. Each field acquires information from a specific object. If you want it to get information from another object, you need to redefine it.

no, this tag is not using field, i just found out that this is old autocad version proxy and i can probably do nothing about it in new autocad version. This tag looks nice and has everything in it- name of the room and squaremeters wich edit when changing polyline, but sadly after coying it the copy doesnt work, just the source objects. So i think thats the problem, older proxy version that i cant edit now. Thanks for helping with fields solution though.

yeah i would send it to you but unfortunetely i cant copy these elements between drawings so i can sand you this in different drawing, when i figure this out i will send it

It is convenient to use the A>V>C> Properties Palette to store your information in xData polylines. xData is perfectly copied along with the polyline. You can use A>V>C> DataTable to retrieve this data into tables. And for symbols in drawings, you can use A>V>C> Smart Leaders. No proxies are needed. The same commands can extract data such as area, length, direction of rotation, coordinates of ends.

The terminology for "tag" and "anchor" and "proxy" indicate that the drawing was created in AutoCAD Architecture.  You need to use that program to modify the drawing if you want full-featured use of the drawing, not plain AutoCAD.  Fields work fine, though, as a workaround.
