As an Autocad 25 yrs. using, what is the best software to create 3d design of curtain walls?

I mean: for design and manufacturing: mulions, transoms, glasses orders etc.
I see more and more Aluminium plants get "Revit" as the architectures offices start to work with "Revit".
Is "Inventor" better?
I use 25 yrs, 3D "Autocad" for this design, can i "slide" into a new software?

Hi yaronw,

Revit is great for civil design works but if you want to design parts for manufacturing and don't care about the whole civil design then look at Inventor. It's designed for mechanical 3D work and is a lot quicker and easier to make changes than AutoCAD for 3D design. You can apply your materials to each part and calculate weight etc, costs, bill of material along with out putting 3D PDF's. You can look at online training groups like eaglepoint.com. Once you get your head around Inventor which hopefully shouldn't take long it makes 3D work a lot quicker than AutoCAD.
