Arcs not joining into polylines

Hi all,

Can anyone explain to me why oh why can't I join Arcs into existing polylines (AutoCAD LT 2015)?

Join & Fillet are both toothless in this instance.

Thank you for any explanations; file attached.

from my experience you cant join an arc to a poly line as its a different type of line, you'll have to draw over your arc with the poly line to complete you poly line loop,

an arc will fillet into a line , but not a poly line

or have you tried creating your arc, connecting/ filleting to a line then convert this to a polyline?

That is not always the case; in the file I provided the left part of
the polyline was made precisely of two arcs and three lines. The
endpoints of the vertices are on the same coordinates as well.

BTW:

Your geometry resides far away from the origin point. This causes the problem.

Here a second suggestion how you can >>solve<< the problem.

I honestly forgot about the PEDIT command 🙂 this has indeed worked, thank you!

I know that the origin is quite far away; we got it like this from the site surveyor and because of coordination ease we need to keep the geometry as it is & where it is.

It's just a bit frustrating when you're relying on OSNAPs when moving and mirroring the geometry only to discover some commands need to be persuaded to do what they are supposed to...

Anyway. Thanks again!

apologies Id assumed you'd already tried PEDIT, these were alternative approaches
