Anonymous Block ATTBLOCKREF or BLOCKREF Object Menu

Right-clicking an Anonymous block will not bring up either ATTBLOCKREF or BLOCKREF Object Menu. Is this a bug? Any workaround?

It can't be an anonymous block.

According to properties it's an anonymous block with one attribute. It's created by Autoturn software which runs as an AutoCAD plug-in. I have a lisp that converts it to a named block in both the ATTBLOCKRE​F and BLOCKREF Object Menus. Right-clicking an Anonymous block will not bring up either one.

You may have misunderstood: I'm not doubting it is an anonymous block, I believe the commands/tools you want to use do not operate on those types of blocks.

And you probably need that add-on to recreate the block.

The command works great, that's not the issue. The problem is "Right-clicking an Anonymous block will not bring up either ATTBLOCKREF or BLOCKREF Object Menu." The ATTBLOCKREF and BLOCKREF Object Menus work as expected for regular blocks.

Exactly: your anonymous block is NOT a "regular" block. That's the problem, it needs to be a "regular" block first.

So your answer to the original question is that those right-click shortcut menus aren't supposed to work with anonymous blocks.

Correct: the best approach would be to turn your anonymous block into a 'regular' block instead. There are many free lisps to do that, and a freeware at dotsoft.com called BLKRENANON.VLX that should do it too.

This is assuming your anonymous block is not a Dynamic block: then you're best off fixing it with BEDIT command instead.

No... Autocad cannot edit anonymous blocks that were created by a 3rd party add-on.

AutoCAD cannot edit any anonymous blocks I have a lisp to give them names.

AFAIK ... NO, not possible (without development).

And when an application developer creates anonymous blocks then that has reasons for his workflow ... you might crash the app when start to make modifications to these block-insertions.

Thanks! Only entity I haven't been able to create one for. I've assigned names to them the past 15 years with lisp. Would have made it easier, but I've gotten by without it all these years.
