Aligned dimension not readjusting automatically after polyline modification in AutoCAD

In Drawing File 1, I created a polyline and added an aligned dimension to it. When I modified the polyline height, the aligned dimension line updated automatically as expected.

In Drawing File 2, I created a similar polyline and added an aligned dimension. But when I modified the polyline height, the aligned dimension did not update automatically.

Is there any drawing-specific setting I need to enable so that dimensions update automatically when the associated object is modified?

That sounds like the two drawings have different values set into the DIMASSOC System Variable.
