Adjacent Objects

I would like to create a simple drawing of a piece of plywood.  This drawing would show the cuts to make sides of a rectangular 5-sided box (no lid).  My drawing shows components for three boxes and I would like for each component (smaller rectangle) to show its entire perimeter.  When two objects are drawn side by side with no space between them, can they be drawn so that the two adjacent sides of the rectangles show?  I attached a screen capture.

As an aside, what exactly happens with two rectangles are adjacent?  In software are the lines theoretically of zero width?

You need to use MLINE with scale for the blade width.

You can assign the width if you use polyline.

Thank you.  I will experiment but one question comes to mind.  With multi-line, I suppose that the space between the parallel lines occupies space i.e. it can be measured and will affect the dimensioning.  Yesterday as I delved into this aspect I realized that there is a distinction between the "zero width" and what we can measure in model space.  My understanding is that when we draw in CAD we are giving lines a width that corresponds to what the pen will plot.   So for now I am thinking about line width differently depending on the context.  Theoretically and in software lines have zero width.  But in our drawings we assign a width to them and that will affect the dimension of an object.
