Adding numbers to a lot of things in AutoCAD

I am looking to number a lot of things like - 001,002,003 etc

Is there a way to do this without adding the numbers in individually ?

Thanks

Look into Auto Number in Express Tools.

Hi @Anonymous,

Are you creating text objects or are you using blocks with attributes or something else?  A little more detail and perhaps a sample file would be helpful in pointing you to an appropriate solution.  @AllenJessupmentioned a built-in tool for incrementing text.  For incrementing attributes or Mtext,  I suggest you take a look in the Autodesk App Store for some addin utilities.

What things exactly? Someone or something is going to click on these "things" in the order you want and add the numbers, but your post is too vague at the moment for meaningful help.

If you are not sure what these "things" are, post your DWG file and explain how the numbering is to go.
