Activation error in Autocad 2010

I have 4 Autocad Mechanical 2010 licenses (FPP / Standalone), which 2 months ago, after an update, one of them stopped working asking for activation, stating that my serial number is invalid.

Today, the same thing happened with another Autocad 2010 license, even if I can't reinstall it, it comes with the information that my serial number is invalid. I also cannot generate a new activation code.

These are valid licenses, legally purchased and Autodesk only tells me that it no longer supports the version, but not letting me activate the product is no longer a support issue, they are preventing me from using a product that has been legally purchased.
I appreciate any help you can offer!

Technically, I think what you purchased long ago was the rights to the use of the software, but sadly this is an issue many are having since AutoCAD stopped all support for 2010 and older a while back now.

Have you considered asking your reseller about upgrade offers and the current subscription model? I believe as recently as last week I was receiving offers from Autodesk regarding replacing my 'legacy' software this way...

If by some odd chance my nattering was useful -- that's great, glad to help. But if it actually solved your issue, then please mark my solution as accepted 🙂

Your AutoCAD/mech2010 is not supported in Win10, which breaks licenses of these older versions, it also means Autodesk is not interested ever in helping you with any issue, it does not mean anything else you might read into "supported" http://autode.sk/1IY4C2X

Autodesk also ended automatic reauthorizing of 2010 and older software as of August 31 2019, read all about it here https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/simplecontent/content/previous-ver...

But... the licensing team can decide when a reactivation code can be granted and to whom. So open a ticket with the Licensing support and check all information and options they may offer you if any https://knowledge.autodesk.com/contact-support/installation-activation

About updating, we have already updated some installations, but for some users, the 2010 version still suits me very well and I don't need to buy a new one in this case.

I do not think what is honest, when we bought the licenses was sold to us with the promise that it would not expire.

If there is nothing wrong with your licenses Autodesk can help you today, but you have to opt-in so to speak, it is no longer automatic. here is the link https://knowledge.autodesk.com/contact-support/installation-activation

Otherwise... it is their software, their rules, their servers, their activation codes: while I totally agree with your sentiments, that's how the world of software works sadly, those that hold the keys get the last say.
