Acoustical Ceiling hanging detail

I'm looking for a decent acoustical hanging detail. something pretty basic but with a good amount of detail. I found some things from a quick google search but some you have to subscribe to. If anyone knows of some good links to something in cadd I would appreciate it.

I would go directly to the manufacturer's website to get these.

Like Armstrong is a popular one for suspending ceiling systems.

Many manufacturers now offer on their website downloads for PDF, DWG & RVT files.

Going back to Armstrong check out this link:

Then you select CAD Files, Next & respond to the choices accordingly

Thanks. I'm going to have to call them. They seem to be all Revit files. I only have basic AutoCAD

Surprising that they only have Revit files to download. I know Armstrong has both. So which manufacturer only has Revit files to download?  Perhaps share their website so we can take a look.

May I ask why you are not visiting an "Acoustical Ceiling" manufacturer website to grab the free details they give away for your need? Or do you not even know them, sort of flying blind perhaps. Armstrong, USG, and about dozens of other websites offer them, but you sort of have to know enough to select the one you need https://www.google.com/search?q=acoustic+ceilings+details

And yes, you'll probably need to actually draft your own if pasting a high-quality image or PDF is not an option.

Does seem to be revit, but i was able to capture am image of it.

Download the pdf and if it’s vector then import into AutoCAD

and what a surprise that the pdf actually contains vector objects so very easily imported all 3 pages into AutoCAD (attached)

Thanks. They don't seem to have anything showing how it connects to the structure above but hopefully this will be good enough. I was clicking around on various links & got infected will malware when i clicked on the wrong link. I had to reboot.

The structure above is quite variable. Detailing all possible types of construction in a single detail would be a bit much.

Always stay within manufacturer websites and don’t click on links to other locations. If there’s a bad link that’s infected like on USGs website notify them so they can get that cleared immediately. I’m sure they don’t want their potential clients to get infected clicking on their website

Maybe some background would help. I was instructed that we need a better ceiling detail than what I currently have. I was on the ASG website & I may have googled something looking for something to show how the hangers connect to the structure above because the manufacturer website doesn't show that. Everything happened kind of fast & I wasn't expecting to get infected because we have protection here. It turned out to just be a popup although it did seem to alter some other stuff. A lisp routine i have been using for years now is not working.

Are you lookin to hang them like in the detail you provided or do you wish for them to sit flat on the ceiling? If you want them to sit flat on the ceiling you should use Z-Clips. I just hung 6 panels on my walls using them and although it was time consuming the finished look is professional.

Could always contact the manufacturer directly. Back in the days before the internet that’s what’s done. Speak to a rep and hopefully someone knowledgeable about their product line to give you answers

That's probably because they very likely don't make the parts used for those connections.  The hanging wire could simply be wrapped around the bottom chord of an open-web truss and twisted, or turned into a little loop and screwed onto the side or bottom face of a wood joist, or welded to a steel beam or maybe even the underside of steel corrugated decking, or "shot" into concrete structure, or....

If you're using ACA, you can easily detail using the content on the tool palettes.  It has a lot of detailing content.

CTRL+3 -> right click -> choose detailing on the bar -> choose 09-Finishes -> Select from drop down on properties palette category, type, and view.  You can individually place several types of accoustical ceilings as individual parts or as an array. The array includes the hanging wire. These items are already built in to use the reference notes in the documentation module.
