Not the first time but after a few views its like this :

The only way to get it back is to restart acad.

What if you turn off hardware acceleration then test it out for the day?

It's important that R2017 is fully patched and updated too.

Hi @Wheelie22,

I agree with Dean that it is important to have your application fully up to date.

You can also check your graphics card driver to see if there is a newer version that might correct the issue.

Did this behavior just start occurring and in all drawings?

Hi,

from your versions list: your AutoCAD is not up-to-date.

Please use the Autodesk Desktop App, make sure you are logged in, after a bit of time it will show you the Update 1.2

Other method: login to your >>>subscription center<<< and find the update 1.2 in the product-updates section.

The layer pane is ok, but now (sometimes) the buttons are gone.

LAYER PANE-BUTTONS.png

I will try to get support to look for new drivers for the graphic card.

I had to change this one to off:

Else the WD-IEC font looks like this :

If the lower left Invert filter box (in the layer properties manager) has a check mark in it that will be the result.  Look down there next time to make sure that is not checked.

There are no new drivers for my PC.

I had to change the High Q. to off.

Else the WD-IEC font looks, depending on the (scroll) zoom, very bad. Like the problems we have with this font in the PDF.

Maybe we have to stop using this font ?

So no accept as solution.

Hi,

>> The layer pane is ok, but now (sometimes) the buttons are gone.

Please try at position 1 of my screenshot if you can move that (with the cursor, left/right) and/or restore the filter part in the dialog (2):

>> Else the WD-IEC font looks like this :

Please:

  • is it a SHX or a TTF font? Start command _STYLE, on the left side select the style that uses the font, then create a screenshot from that dialog and show this screenshot here
  • does the same bad display happen if you start a new drawing based on an original AutoCAD template, create a text-style using that font, create a text using that style ... same issue?

No, that is the separator line.

Normaly it looks like this :

LAYER PANE-BUTTONS1.png

And this is the default font for acad-E, the isocp2.shx.

Hi,

>> No, that is the separator line.

Ok, and how about the filter-min/max icon "2" in my screenshot?

>> And this is the default font for acad-E, the isocp2.shx.

Sorry, this here is the AutoCAD forum, so I can't know that from your previous post "WD-IEC font" was meant as "WD-IEC" is the style and that style is using "ISOCP2.shx" font 🙂

What happens if you change the style so it is using ISOCP.shx or ISOCP..ttf instead of ISOCP2.shx?

This question is open:

  • does the same bad display happen if you start a new drawing based on an original AutoCAD template, create a text-style using that font, create a text using that style ... same issue?

I've had this happen before through many versions and computers. Some more often than others. As far as I know, there is no fix. Changing workspace or profile and then changing it back has worked but only temporarily.

Some suggest using the classic layer manager.

Wrong forum : it started with the layer, and the iso font has Always been in ACAD. I have acad 2.5 on a floppy, and its there to.

Hi,

>> Wrong forum :

No, not the wrong forum for the question.

But you expected that I should have known that "WD-IEC" is a style and not a font PLUS "isocp2.shx" is a default font in your application ... and that is not clear to all people answering AutoCAD questions here (and not using ACAD-E).

>> the iso font has Always been in ACAD

Yes, but never been a default setting in AutoCAD 😉

>> I dont see no. 2 now that >> is gone. How did i get that ?

Interesting, you have shown this on your first screenshot ... I made my screenshot from your picture 😉

What happens when you move the layer-manager to the other display, then close and reopen it?

That's how I get the missing icons and display issues with the layer-manager repaired on systems only having a Intel-GC.

Questions open:

  • What happens if you change the style so it is using ISOCP.shx or ISOCP..ttf instead of ISOCP2.shx?
  • does the same bad display happen if you start a new drawing based on an original AutoCAD template, create a text-style using that font, create a text using that style ... same issue?
