ACAD 2026 VP Line Type

When I set a line type of a layer within a viewport (typically HIDDEN2), it still displays as continuous. This does not happen in 2023. Maybe I have a "custom setting" set that I've forgotten about.

How do I fix this?

Thank you

Could you share this dwg here for community to review?

Note the exact layer name & which vport if more than one.

Try PSLTSCALE = 0.  REGEN may be needed.

PSLTSCALE=0 did not solve my problem. However, I have a clue!

I draw my floor plans on top of each other and change views by turning on and off layers. The annotation scale and standard scale is set to 1/4"=1'-0". When I set the linetype scale (LTS) = 1.0, which I've always done, the line work looks fine in one view port but, in another viewport, the hidden lines (HIDDEN2) appear solid. When I set the LTS = 48, the hidden lines appear correctly, but when I go back to the other viewport (where the hidden lines appear correct with a LTS of 1.0), the hidden lines appear solid. I have reviewed the properties of both viewports and I can see any differences.

Does that help with solving the problem?

Thank you

What if you create a new vport?

More clues!

If I create a VP on the same sheet as the one with LTS = 1.0 working and restore the layers from the offending sheet, it works. When I copy that VP to the offending sheet and restore the layers from the offending sheet, I still have the problem.

If I copy the entire sheet and restore the layers, it works.

Best way to help you resolve this is still what I posted before which is to share your drawing with this problem.

Yeah, I'm not posting my DWGs to a forum. I don't mind sending it to you individually. I hope you understand.

Sure send it to me only then. If there are xrefs involved make sure you use the etransmit command.

I sincerely appreciate your offer and your time, Paul. I fixed the problem by copying another sheet and restoring the layers, so I no longer have the problem. I could download a backup and send that, but that's a little bit of work and, right now, I don't have the time to solve the curiosity I have about why the problem existed in the first place. It's funny (ironic, not humorous) how these types of problems pop up only when I have a deadline LOL.

Thanks again

Hi, Paul.

My problem happened again. I tried what I used on the previous project (copying a sheet, changing the layer states), but that didn't work.
See sheet S-2. All of the layers from the xref Second Floor should be HIDDEN2 as shown in the layer properties. On my monitor, they appear as continuous lines even when I change the LTS.
I appreciate you taking the time to look at this for me.

I've tested in versions from 2020 through 2026.

I'm able to replicate your problem starting in 2025 & 2026.

In prior versions like 2024, all I needed to do in drawing 22510 Plans.dwg on layout S-2 is to enter the following:

PSLTSCALE

1

REGENALL

Then the HIDDEN2 VP Linetype now shows up:

But starting in 2025 & 2026 the only way I can see the HIDDEN2 VP linetype override after the above commands is by doing a PLOT PREVIEW:
