about pdmode

Good evening, I have an one doubt about point command, we use the PDmode ,in that we have certain numbers modes only ,why we can't used other numbers. The shape for each point is vary, what is meaning of each shape(mode).give an example for each.is there any standards ,please send me as pdf .pls answer me as early as possible.

if you enter the values ( see below image ) by PDMODE (System Variable) . it works well !! what do you mean by ''can't used '' ?

... and the missing first line of this table (you find it in the help) shows the "basic" symbols for the values  0 to 4.
