3Dconnexion Zoom

Hello

I am using AutoCAD 2016 with a 3Dconnexion space mouse pro.  All of a sudden, the zoom in is limited.  If I pull up on the device, I can zoom in only to a certain limit then it is stuck.  I can still pan and rotate at this point.  If I then use the normal mouse roller to zoom in further and attempt to pan or rotate, the model flies off the screen.  The only way back is a zoom extents.  Then I'm back to square one, not being able to zoom in as far as I'd like with the space mouse.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Dave

Hello @Anonymous,

Thank you for posting to the community. I have outlined some of the more common problems associated with this issue.

  1. "Confirm that the mouse is working" or try a standard mouse to test
  2. Make sure you have updated drivers for the 3Dconnexion mouse by checking the manufacturer's website
  3. Verify Graphics Performance by changing some settings
  4. Update your product with the latest service pack or hotfixes by signing into your Autodesk account.

  5. If you continue to have an issue please continue to troubleshoot with the remaining suggestions found in this article

Let us know how it goes.

Hi Natasha.  I tried all the typical "IT did you try re-booting" type fixes.  The problem randomly resolved itself when I had a command active trying to measure an area and used the space mouse to zoom into the vertex I wanted.  I guess I'm all set... for now.  It's a bit frustrating how unstable AutoCAD is with the 3Dconnexion interface.  It seemed to work seamlessly until Autodesk took over the drivers.  Any plans to change back and let the 3Dx drivers do the work?

My problem has randomly come back.  Any graphic setting suggestions?  Also, I wanted to follow up on my question with regards to letting 3Dconnexion handle the drivers as opposed to Autodesk.

I am also having problems with a 3d Connexion cadmouse pro wireless on Inventor 2021. It will unexpectedly zoom to infinity, and I have to then go to "view>zoom all" to get the model back. So frustrating that I had to switch back to a regular mouse. Any suggestions appreciated.

This topic is actually about the space mouse... and AutoCAD.

You can try gogin to the inventor forums and post there.

That said have you tried disabling the smart scroll feature?

I didn't realize I was not on the Inventor discussion group. I will post there. Smart scrolling is disabled.
