So this happens when I export a model from Inventor to AutoCAD 2017. It's hard for me to put the issue into accurate words but essentially what happens is the 3D Orbit/free orbit(?) behavior is not the same as it is with Inventor and native 3D modelling in AutoCAD. I shift + middle mouse button to orbit around the geometry/model I have exported as a .dwg from inventor, and in cad the model is not "right side up" as in, what should be the bottom of the model (as it was in Inventor, on the XY plane) is now turned 90 degrees to the horizon line (when in Perspective mode in cad). So clicking the view cube to go to what should be "TOP" or "BOTTOM", "LEFT", "RIGHT" is not as the model should be and results in 3DOrbit navigating being basically non-functional/useless for what I need to do. It shows the green "Pivot point" locked in the center of the model when I shift+middle mouse click and I can't rotate around it easily like I normally can. Others on my team have the same issue when exporting to CAD from Inventor and we cannot figure out what the problem is. I have scoured google and these forums for similar posts related to this problem and have seen others but haven't found a proper answer that solves my problem. The closest post that resembles our issue is this one:
We've tried messing with settings with no luck. The particular model i'm working with is attached below, hopefully the issue can be seen by others on their machines (if not that implies that its a user setting?).
I just want to be able to 3D orbit easily like I can in Inventor and in the typical AutoCAD 3D Modeling workspace.
EDIT: My original post was marked as spam by someone. This is clearly not a spam post, thank you...
Thank you all in advance!
