3D Object disappears when zooming, object perhaps too big?

Hi,

I had 3 2D plans of the architect and just extruded them to give some 3D feeling, but when I zoom, it dissappears.

Can full autocad not handle bigger objects? What am I doing wrong? Should this be done in autocad architecture?

What do you mean? Is this a command? I cannot find it.
I have run a lot more complex drawings, just never in full autocad. So I don't think it's my graphics card. It feels like a setting issue, or maybe a scaling issue?

The ZOOMFACTOR is a system variable - just type it on the command line.

It's not zoomfactor. When I change to either 5 or 90, the problem persists. Originally it was on 60.

There are no wipeouts in my drawing. My drivers are up to date. I have opened the drawing in full autocad 2022 and 2023 and both give the same problem. GRAPHICSCONFIG has been turned off.

During zooming (while Perspectivemode = ON), the imaginary "camera" is moved too close to (into) the model. 

I try to explain: 

In image "Zoom_out" you see a "camera" which is far away from the model. The camera sees the cylinder (partially) and the box (nearly complete). 

If you zoom in (e. g. because you want to see a detail of the box) AutoCAD moves the camera closer to the model. (See image "Zoom_in"). But now the cylinder is behind the camera and not visible in the camera's view.  

To avoid this I'd suggest to create a new camera manually (using the "camera" command) and set the view to this camera. In the View Manager you can adjust the LensLength or the Field of view as you need. 

Or you can modify the cameras properties using their grips in the modelspace: drag the position in all three directions, drag the view direction, drag the grips of the Field of view (lens length), ... whatever you want. In the Camera preview window you can see a preview what you will see if the camera is active.

yes sorry, I had to clean it up a bit first for privacy reasons. I added the drawing in the original post, but only the columns. It still gives the same zoom problem.

After a Zoom -> Extents here all seems to >>work well<<. 

And if you need to zoom very close to the model, why not set Perspective = 0? So you can avoid all these problems.

@kloe.kegels I set UCS and PLAN back to WORLD, SHADEMODE back to 2D
Rotated view/ucs back to about where you had it.
Set PERSPECTIVE back to 1.

AKA I removed everything you did to get stuck where you got stuck without having to spend so much time and effort and back-and-forth trying to diagnose it.

TLDR - Power CAD User Tip #1: Just fix it.
