During zooming (while Perspectivemode = ON), the imaginary "camera" is moved too close to (into) the model.
I try to explain:
In image "Zoom_out" you see a "camera" which is far away from the model. The camera sees the cylinder (partially) and the box (nearly complete).
If you zoom in (e. g. because you want to see a detail of the box) AutoCAD moves the camera closer to the model. (See image "Zoom_in"). But now the cylinder is behind the camera and not visible in the camera's view.
To avoid this I'd suggest to create a new camera manually (using the "camera" command) and set the view to this camera. In the View Manager you can adjust the LensLength or the Field of view as you need.
Or you can modify the cameras properties using their grips in the modelspace: drag the position in all three directions, drag the view direction, drag the grips of the Field of view (lens length), ... whatever you want. In the Camera preview window you can see a preview what you will see if the camera is active.
