there are a number of approaches to this depending on what you are already using. a simple way, though it creates a "dumb", non-intelligent or linked view, is to open paperspace, if you dont already have viewports established, type in MVIEW, for make view or model view, view the model like you want to see it in the view and use the command SOLPROF, and then choose the solid that you wish to make the view from . it will make a solid profile of the model. a few options will come up like "do you want hidden lines", etc.
Another option is the command FLATSHOT. this will make a profile of the solid, but does so with EVERY solid in your model. i just delete what i dont need. this also makes a "dumb" view. meaning its no longer linked to the model. it will be an accurate view, but not linked. Updating the model will not update the view.
another option is to use the VIEWBASE command and select the model you want in model space, it will then take you to paperspace to plant your base view, and after accepting this placement, the program will offer all associated views depending on where you position your cursor.
another option is to view the solid in model space and enter the command 3DCLIP. this will open another window and allow you to adjust some "clipping planes" to isolate the area you wish to view inside of a viewport.. it can cut views thru the model and AT the model. this type of view creation is INTELLIGENT and will update as you update your model. you can create another viewport (MVIEW) and create a section or view from another direction if you wish.
